Iran Press/ Iran News: During the Iranian new year, Nowruz, in which trips normally rise, traffic in the road, rail, and air sectors was soaring compared to the same period in the last year.
According to the statistics reported by the Iran Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazr-Pash traffics on the road soared by 3.5 percent, while 1,600,000 people traveled via rail and more than 2 million passengers traveled by air that shows 30 percent and 20 percent growths respectively.
Moreover, in the maritime sector, more than 6,200,000 passengers traveled by sea, while 600,000 cars were carried. It indicates a 12 percent increase.
Aligned with the attempts of the Iran Ministry of Roads and Urban Development last year to remove 350 high-risk accident points, there is a 22 percent decrease in the number of fatalities on Nowruz trips, the traffic police announced adding that 16,000 people were injured during this period.
