Qom (IP) - The 8th anniversary of the people martyred in Zaria of Nigeria was commemorated in a ceremony on Friday in Qom, south of Tehran.

Iran PressIran news: On December 12 and 13, 2015, the Army of Nigeria attacked Baqiyatullah Hussainiya in Zaria, the center of the country's Shia people; the attack led to the martyrdom of hundreds of people and the injury of many others. 

The Nigerian army arrested several people, jailed them in a room, and burnt them alive. About 800 others also were lost whose fates have remained unknown so far. 

Amid the massacre, the army arrested the leader of Nigeria's Shia Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaki and his wife for 6 years.

Zakzaki's son also was among those martyred by the army.
