Abuja (IP)- Nigerians took to the streets decrying the Zaria massacre, which took place on December 14, 2015.

Iran PressAfrica: The massacre left hundreds of unarmed  Shi'a Muslim civilians murdered by the Nigerian Government under the administration of Muhammadu Buhari who served as the president of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023.

On Wednesday, The Nigerians chanted " Death to America, death to Israel, we support Palestine."

The protestors, including men and women, were carrying flags of Palestine, banners, and photos of the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, and his wife who are currently in Iran for medication as a result of several gunshots when members of the Nigerian military attacked their resident in Zaria of Kaduna State north-central Nigeria eight years ago and despite Court order, the then government denied them proper medication.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, engineer Abdullahi Musa, National Secretary of the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria said, "America and West, who supported  Zaria massacre under the presidency of Buhari's regime, are the ones still sponsoring the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians especially in  Gaza."

"The Zaria massacre is in continuation of the genocide that has taken place against Palestinian females and children in Gaza because the sponsors of the Zaria massacre are the same people that are making these killings in Gaza," Abdullahi Musa added.

According to Musa, the killings in Gaza are a "global injustice," therefore, globally, freedom seekers and people with conscience need to express concern about Gaza.

He also called for justice for the victims of the Zaria massacre and victims of the Gaza massacre carried out by America, France, Israel, and the United Kingdom, saying "We are calling for the freedom of Palestine and the elimination of the illegitimate Israeli regime."

After the conclusion of the protest, the protestors, mostly youth, gathered at Fudiyyah school in Maraban Abuja, where they said prayers and chanted Imam Hussain's mourning songs to honor hundreds of Shi'a martyrs of Zaria massacre and more than 20,000 Palestinian martyrs murdered by zionists regime. 219
