Sowlat Mortazavi, Iran's Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare, and Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, Qatar's Minister of Labor, engaged in fruitful discussions and deliberations, exploring various avenues of cooperation. To solidify their commitment, the negotiating delegations from both countries signed the meeting minutes.
During the meeting, the Qatari Minister of Labor underscored the imperative of executing previous agreements, stating, "Through the negotiations between our delegations, we have reached a series of agreements in the realm of employment." He further emphasized the willingness of both parties to tap into Iran's pool of skilled workforce and collaborate effectively to overcome any existing challenges.
In a continuation of the session, Mortazavi referenced the four previous rounds of negotiations between Iran and Qatar, highlighting the crucial matter of implementing the memorandums of understanding and past agreements.
He elaborated, shedding light on Qatar's specific areas of interest, stating, "Qatar expresses its desire for collaboration in the domains of air and sea transportation, medical services, hospitality, and the deployment of the specialized workforce in these sectors."
Another voice in the discussion was Mahmoud Karimi Beiranvand, Deputy Minister of Labor for Employment Affairs. He revealed that last year, 2,000 Iranians sought deployment for work in Qatar, with 500 individuals successfully finding employment opportunities. Iran possesses considerable facilities and capacities in the realm of skilled and trained labor, displaying readiness to expand its contribution in response to precise needs expressed by Qatar, he noted.
The meeting marks an important milestone in the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Qatar, demonstrating the potential for a mutually beneficial partnership in the field of employment and labor exchange.
