On Wednesday, on the occasion of Astronautics Day in this country, the President of Russia announced that Moscow should increase the production of domestic satellites.

Russia needs to increase the production of domestic satellites that could solve a variety of tasks, President Vladimir Putin believes.

"We need to focus on the use of near-Earth space. To do this, together with the technology business, we should significantly increase the production of satellites, move from development work to assembly," the head of state said on Wednesday at a gala evening in honor of Cosmonautics Day.

According to him, "such tasks are being solved in the world."

"And, of course, we can solve them too," Putin said. He listed, for example, several areas where satellite technology is useful.

The Russian President noted that "the creation of powerful satellite constellations is designed to ensure high quality navigation and communications, including satellite data transmission."

"This will make it possible to use remote sensing of the Earth more widely, primarily for the development of our vast territories, to develop unmanned vehicles, to solve global problems, including those related to environment and climate change," he explained.

The outbreak of war in Ukraine and the recent imposition of sanctions by the White House on the Russian space sector have affected the security of the International Space Station, which is located 400 kilometers from the Earth, and the American space organization NASA has expressed concern in this regard.

The International Space Station, which is the result of cooperation among several countries in the world such as Canada, Spain, Japan and other countries, is generally divided into two main parts, the American part and the Russian part, which cannot be separated physically.
