Iran Press/ Iran News: Hossein Amirabdollahian said he would not tie the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the JCPOA talks and use the best of the ministry's ability to neutralize the sanctions.
He pointed to Karbala and Ashura's lessons in diplomacy and said: "Ashura has taught us that diplomacy and the field (war) are two powerful arms through which the maximum national interests are realized."
Amirabdollahian then started to address the ministry's priorities and announced that as the 21st century belonged to Asia, the ministry of foreign affairs would adopt an Asia-centered approach.
"In West Asia, we seek to institutionalize international resistance behavior. We will also seek to use the capacity of the emerging economic powers and maximize interaction for the growth and interaction of the economy and trade as well as the livelihood of the people," he went on to say.
He highlighted the concept of 'balanced policy' and said that we talk about a balanced foreign policy; it means that our foreign policy will not stop in one region and area.
"But neighbor- orienred, and Asia-centered policies are on top priority, and strengthening relations with Islamic countries will be our balanced economic policy," pointed out the proposed minister of foreign affairs.
Emphasizing supporting the allies and the resistance front in the region, he said: "Improving relations with neighbors is a strategic and not a tactical policy, and we strongly believe in it and urge the friendship and brotherhood of all the countries in the region, especially the 15 neighboring countries."
"We believe it is time for all countries in the region to see the fate of governments that have trusted the United States," he said.
He also referred to the relations between Tehran and Riyadh and said: "We consider the cooperation between the two Muslim countries in the interest of the region and we believe that trade relations with the Persian Gulf countries will create increasing capacity for the countries of the region."
