Iran Press/Iran News: During the meeting, proposals from the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development were presented, along with discussions on the challenges and obstacles hindering the advancement of this region.
President Pezeshkian underscored the importance of a needs-based approach to Makran's development, stressing that identifying key issues and devising targeted solutions is essential for creating a region that reflects the aspirations of the Iranian people. He noted, “The general plans proposed for Makran require significant revisions. Given that this area is intended to serve as a model for innovative development and as an economic and political hub for Iran, any development plan must align with this strategic vision.”
The President also highlighted the importance of integrating Makran's capabilities and potential with those of other developed regions within the global value chain, noting that the development of this area is a high-priority policy endorsed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
President Pezeshkian then outlined four key directives aimed at accelerating the groundwork for Makran’s growth:
1. Strengthening Local Economies: Building robust local economies to empower the region’s communities.
2. Infrastructure in Renewable Energy: Developing essential infrastructure with a focus on renewable energy resources.
3. Accelerating Transportation Corridors: Completing the region’s transport corridors through international partnerships.
4. Attracting Domestic and Foreign Investment: Attracting and concentrating both domestic and international investment in Makran.
