Tehran (IP) - Iran's President sent message of congratulation to the newly appointed Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif.

Iran PressIran news:  Ebrahim Raisi told the Pakistani PM in the letter: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, within the framework of its constant policy, is fully prepared to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations in all aspects with the brotherly and neighboring country, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan."

President Raisi expressed hope that the new Pakistani government would step toward growth and advancement and asked God prosperity for the Pakistani nation. 

Three weeks after the parliamentary elections in Pakistan, the new Parliament of Pakistan elected Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif as the 24th Prime Minister of the country with the majority of votes, to form the new government of Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif, 72, is the younger brother of Nawaz Sharif who was the prime minister of Pakistan for three terms; Shahbaz Sharif led the election campaign of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the recent elections.
