Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking in a live Instagram interview in English, Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed: "The past 30 years have been one of the most turbulent times in the world, and we have witnessed wars and drastic changes and catastrophes in the international community."
Speaking in a live Instagram interview in English, Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed: "The past 30 years have been one of the most turbulent times in the world, and we have witnessed wars and drastic changes and catastrophes in the international community."
Addressing international audience at the Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran, Zarif stated: "After the end of the Cold War, some people tried to build a new future. They not only predicted the future developments but also prescribed them."
Iranian Foreign Minister added: "The superpowers made a miscalculation and the announcement of new world order by the US President, Donald Trump, the issue of global governance and the new American century and the declaration of victory on the deck of the American warship in the last 30 years or so were just efforts to prescribe things for the future."
Zarif reiterated: "If we want to know what is happening and prevent bad things, we must know where we are and where we will be going."
"Remember that Trump said the US spent $ 7 trillion to build a new world order and the country failed," he said.
He referred to the historical background of the global transition, saying: "Throughout history, the old order collapsed and the new order replaced it with a lot of bloodshed. I believe that completely Western approaches have failed to give us an understanding of world events. The new world order will no longer be entirely Western."
Examining the important events of the twentieth century, such as the First and Second World Wars and the Cold War, and the failure of Western policies to prevent conflicts, Zarif said: "The Islamic Revolution of Iran and the Non-Aligned Movement attempted to escape the Cold War."
