US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met on Wednesday with deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani. The meeting took place in Washington.

According to an Iran Press report, the two diplomats discussed  bilateral relations and the means to enhance them, as well as latest regional developments in the Middle East.

Pompeo and Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani also discussed the situation in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

U.S. media reported that the Trump administration plans to roll out its peace mediation plan that involves both Palestinians and Israelis recently.

However, on Wednesday the Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, as well as Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) both  slammed U.S. President Donald Trump for suggesting removing the issue of al-Quds  from the Middle East peace talks.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also met with Jordanian foreign minister, Ayman Safadi, on Wednesday, discussing  bilateral ties and regional issues.

According to a statement by State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert, Pompeo  also discussed regional developments, including the situation in Syria with Safadi .
