PM-designate invites Iran to invest in Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zurufi referred to Iran's contribution to fighting against ISIS, urging the Islamic Republic to invest in the Arab country.

Iran PressMiddle East: Adnan Al-Zurufi said on Sunday: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has helped Iraq in the fight against ISIS, and we appreciate that assistance." 

Iraqi Prime Minister-designate stressed that his government would attach importance to the economy and invite Iran to invest in Iraq, assuring everyone: "I can make economic changes and keep Iraq out of the conflict."

He went on to say: "We need foreign technology companies to make progress, and we are looking for a new reality in Iraq that will start with the economy."

Adnan al-Zurufi added that his government has been in contact with several countries to provide immediate medical assistance until the novel Coronavirus is contained.

Iraqi Prime Minister-designate added that he had two separate meetings with the ambassadors of the permanent members of the Security Council and the European Union to ask them to guarantee Iraq's economic progress.

Adnan al-Zurufi said the US ambassador had promised him to withdraw half of the US troops from Iraq by the middle of the current year.

Al-Zurufi claimed that he would withdraw US troops from Iraq altogether and turn their military activities into economic ones.
