Qom (IP) - Iran's Manganese Mine in Qom, ُSouthern the capital of Tehran, has been called the largest mine in the West Asian region, which plays an important role in meeting the needs of Iran's steel and iron industry.

Iran PressIran News: The CEO of Manganese Mines of Iran Mohammad Reza Raghebian told Iran Press that the company has a 55-year history and is a major supplier of manganese for Iran's steel and iron industries.

Raghebian stated that Iran Manganese Mines Company provides more than 70 percent of the manganese needed by Isfahan Steel Company.

Iran's manganese consumption demands per year are more than 180,000 tons, 100,000 tons of which are supplied by the Manganese Mining Company; that is the company produces more than 55% of Iran's manganese needs, he asserted.

The CEO of Manganese Mines of Iran stated so far, the company's reserves of 6.5 million tons have been identified, 40% of which have been extracted in the past 55 years.
