President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Iran reserves the right to defend itself and respond to any act of aggression in accordance with “all international norms and regulations.”

Iran Press/Iran News: According to Iran Press, Massoud Pezeshkian responded to the phone call of the Vatican's Secretary of State Cardinal "Pietro Parolin" before noon on Monday, appreciating the positions of the Vatican in supporting the establishment of peace, stability and security in the world, a more active role of the Vatican to immediately stop The Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza demanded the lifting of the blockade of this area and the provision of aid to the people through consultation with international organizations and human rights organizations.

Pezeshkian further considered the genocide and killing of the oppressed women and children of Gaza, the cowardly assassinations in the countries of the region and the attack on the hospitals and schools where the refugees live, as a part of the criminal actions of the Zionist regime and added:

"In utter disbelief and regret, despite the passage of 10 months, not only the expectations of the nations to force this regime to stop the unprecedented crime and murder in Gaza remain unanswered, but America and some Western countries with their support and international organizations with their silence and passivity, they have encouraged the Zionist regime to commit this crime, genocide and terror."

Emphasizing the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in abhorring and avoiding war and bloodshed and promoting world peace and security, the President condemned the actions of the Zionist regime in killing women and children and attacking hospitals and schools, as well as the criminal act of this regime in assassinating the guests of our country. He recognized all humane and legal principles and stated: according to all international standards and regulations, the right to defend and respond to the aggressor is reserved for the country that has been violated.

The Iranian president, emphasizing the fundamental positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in avoiding war and promoting world peace and security, considered the actions of the Zionist regime in killing women and children as well as the criminal act of this regime in the assassination of the guest of Islamic Republic of Iran against all humane and legal principles. 

Cardinal "Pietro Parolin", the Vatican's Secretary of State, in this telephone conversation, while conveying the congratulatory message of Pope Francis to the doctors after winning the presidential elections and commending the principled positions of the president in constructive interaction with the world and emphasizing the preservation and promotion of global peace and stability , added: "While expressing interest in expanding relations between the two governments as much as possible, the Vatican supports the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in promoting interaction, synergy and convergence between the countries of the region and the world."

 

The Vatican's Secretary of State of the Vatican also emphasized the need to immediately stop the killing of civilians in Gaza and establish a ceasefire in this region.203
