The president-elect of Iran said that the commonalities between the two nations of Iran and Yemen are historical and deep, and the 14th government will seek comprehensive development of relations based on these commonalities.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to Iran press, Chairman of Yemen's Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on the evening of Sunday, July 14, 2024, in a telephone call with Masoud Pezeshkian, while congratulating him on the occasion of his election by the people of Iran, described it as the victory of the will of the Iranian nation and stated:

"The victory of the Iranian nation is the victory of all the oppressed nations of the world. And it is the current of resistance, and I pray for your success as the one elected by the people of Iran in this serious responsibility."

 

Mahdi Al-Mashat stated that we are looking for fraternal relations in all fields with the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling unity the source of strength and division as the source of failure of Muslim nations.

 

He added:

"I appreciate the strong and decisive positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the rights of the Palestinian nation and all the oppressed of the world. Be sure that history will not forget Iran's right-wing positions."

In this telephone conversation, while appreciating the congratulations of the officials of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, the elected president Islamic Republic of Iran praised the brave decision of the leaders and people of this country to support the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation and stated:

"While the inaction of some governments towards the nation Palestine will be blamed by future generations, the Yemeni nation's support for the oppressed Palestinians will always shine like a jewel."

 

Masoud Pezeshkian added: "Unlike some Arab countries, Yemen has practically entered the field of supporting the Palestinians in spite of many hardships and taking into account possible risks, which will remain in history."

 

The president-elect called the root of all the bitter and unfortunate events in the region to be the destructive policies of the West and the presence of the Zionist regime in this region and noted:

"The commonalities between the two nations and the countries of Iran and Yemen are historical and deep, and the fourteenth government, relying on these commonalities, will seek comprehensive development of bilateral relations; I hope that with the realization of complete peace and the lifting of the blockade of Yemen, the ground for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries will be paved. 203
