Qeshm (IP) - Coinciding the forty-fourth anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the implementation of the national and strategic plan of the Persian Gulf bridge in Qeshm has been operationalized with the presence of national and Hormozgan high-ranking officials.

Iran PressIran news: This large and important strategic plan was operationalized on Tuesday in the presence of Hojatullah Abdulmaleki, secretary of the Free Zones High Council, Chairman of the Civil Commission of Iran's Parliament, Parliamentarians of Hormozgan Province, and other corresponding officials.

With the construction of the Persian Gulf bridge, 92 kilometers of highways and 86 kilometers of railways will be created connecting the port of Kaveh on the beautiful island of Qeshm to the nationwide transportation lines in Iran.

Connecting the largest island in West Asia to the mainland of Iran has been one of the long-standing dreams of the islanders.

The construction of the Persian Gulf bridge has been resumed after a seven-year hiatus, coinciding with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Also, the construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge has an important role in the development of the North-South Corridor and the all-around development of Qeshm Island, Southern Iran.

Qeshm Island plays an important role in the transportation of goods and passengers, and with the construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge, the transportation complex of this Iranian island in the Persian Gulf will be completed.

Managing Director of Qeshm Free Zone Organization Afshar Fathollahi stated that the construction cost of the Persian Gulf bridge is 460 million Euros. This national mega plan has four car crossing lanes, one train crossing lane, emergency lanes and pedestrians, and the prospect of its completion is about three and half a year has been targeted.
