Iran Press/America: The number of American personnel who have been diagnosed with mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) has reached 64, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Campbell, a Pentagon spokesman said in a statement on Thursday according to Reuters.
This is while the US President Donald Trump had initially said no Americans were hurt by the missiles fired on a base housing US soldiers in western Iraq on January 8.
Democrats later accused Donald Trump of trying to downplay the injuries.
While the Pentagon had said earlier that 50 soldiers were injured in the Iranian strike on the Ain al-Asad base, the latest total is an increase of 14 on those numbers.
In response to the US strike that assassinated Iran’s Quds Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, IRGC launched 16 missiles targeting US bases in Iraq on January 8.
