(IP) – The resistance of the Palestinian nation in the face of Zionists' occupation and desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque is a legitimate defense against oppression and aggression, says Iran’s ambassador to Kuwait.

Iran Press/ West Asia:  Mohammad Tutunchi made the remarks during a meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Osama Shaltout, according to IRNA on Thursday.

“The right to self-determination and respect for the fundamental rights of the people under occupation is among international rules recognized in the United Nations Charter,” the envoy noted.

He stated: “But today, the native inhabitants of Palestine are facing crime, genocide, and humiliation at the hands of the occupying regime.”

The Egyptian ambassador, for his part, said the Palestinian people left their homeland in 1948 and 1967 and submitted to the threats of the Zionist regime, but today they are determined to fight and resist.
