Iran Press/Iran news: A C-130 aircraft carrying relief goods supplied by Pakistan's 'National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)' flew to Iran on Wednesday while another aircraft would leave on Thursday.
In first consignment, Pakistan NDMA dispatched a load of over 32 tons humanitarian assistance contains 500 tents, 2500 blankets and emergency medical kits to flood-hit Iranian survivors, Iran Press reported.
Pakistani political and religious groups have also launched a campaign across the country and abroad to collect humanitarian aid to help Iranian flood-stricken people.
Heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over past four weeks. Scores of people were killed and injured while a large number of people were displaced across Iran.
The United Nations has established a banking channel so cash assistance would make its way into Iran, UN Resident Coordinator and Representative of Secretary-General in Iran, Ugochi Daniels told reporters in Tehran on Monday.
Her remarks come at a time when the Iranian officials have criticized the US sanctions for blocking all banking channels that allow international donation for flood assistance to be transferred to the Iranian Red Crescent Society organization. 105/205
