Iran Press/ Iran news: According to Iran Press, citing from the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Zones, Hojatullah Abdul Maliki, in a meeting with the Ambassador of Oman, emphasized the need to speed up the process of signing a joint cooperation agreement between the free zones of the two countries.
He stated that initial agreements have been made and good progress has been achieved in the development of joint free zones between the two countries. He noted: "We believe that the trade relations between the two countries can be much higher than the current figures and the signing of the aforementioned memorandum will help in the development of trade and economic relations between Iran and Oman which in turn will have a tangible and great impact.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Zones, pointing out that the export of Iran to Oman in 1400 was twice the same period as before, said:
The cooperation between the free zones of the two countries, in addition to creating an environment for investors, can develop the export and import of Iran and Oman much more than in the past and provide the basis for increasing employment and investment in these areas.
Referring to the establishment of banking infrastructure (refueling operations for ships and other vessels at sea) in the Qeshm Free Zone, the President's advisor stated: "We are ready to provide these services to the other party by establishing a joint company with the Khasab Free Zone of Oman."
Stating that the financial turnover of the banking industry in the Persian Gulf is more than 20 billion dollars, Abdul Maleki emphasized that a good part of this financial turnover can be attracted in the countries of Oman and Iran.
Stating that Qeshm Free Zone is planning to provide banking services to various countries that are interested in this field, he said: At the same time, our priority is to share benefits with neighboring countries such as Oman.
In this meeting, the ambassador of Oman also announced his country's interest in the cooperation agreement between the free zones between the two countries.
