Nov. 27; 2nd martyrdom anniversary of nuclear scientist Fakhrizadeh

Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi was assassinated on November 27, 2020, in a terrorist attack conducted by the Israeli regime. The move was aimed at disrupting Iran's nuclear program.

This is the second martyrdom anniversary of Fakhrizadeh's assassination by the Israeli regime. The act was a flagrant state terror by the Zionist regime.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi was an Iranian nuclear physicist and scientist who was born in Iran's Qom in 1958.

Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi joined the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

He attended Shahid Beheshti University and later received a Ph.D. from the University of Isfahan. In 1991, he was a physics professor at Imam Hossein University.

In the early 2010s, Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi established and led the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research.

Due to Fakhrizadeh's affiliation with the Iranian nuclear program, both the United Nations Security Council and the United States ordered the freezing of his assets in the mid-2000s.

The Iranian scientist helped develop COVID-19 testing kits and a vaccine for use during the pandemic.

On 27 November 2020, Friday afternoon, the Israeli regime assassinated Fakhrizadeh in a road ambush in Absard town of Damavand County, Tehran Province, using an autonomous satellite-operated gun.

In 2018, Israeli sources acknowledged that Mossad had tried to assassinate an Iranian nuclear scientist, but its operation failed.

In a televised interview in June 2021, former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen offered the Israeli regime's closest admission yet of its responsibility for the assassination.

During the assassination operation, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi was seriously injured and taken to hospital, but the medical team did not succeed in reviving him; he succumbed to his wounds and was martyred after years of effort.
