Khorasan Razavi (IP) – With the beginning of the New Year and the arrival of the ancient Iranian Nowruz, thousands of people from different parts of Iran attended the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeastern Iran, and started the new year with performing prayers.

The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) has been decorated with flowers on the occasion of the Persian New Year, and the presence of pilgrims in the holy shrine of the 8th Imam of the Shia, Hazrat Reza (AS) has given Mashhad a spiritual atmosphere. 

Nowruz, the Iranian ancient Spring celebration, coincides with the holy month of Ramadan.
