Iran Press/Iran News: In a specialized meeting of Nowruz Diplomacy that was held on Monday in Tehran, Mohammad Hassan Talebian, referred to the registration of Nowruz in the world since 2009, saying the event had been registered in the UNESCO's World Heritage List with 12 countries.
He added that countries from Asia, Europe, and Africa also want to join Nowruz.
Nowruz is an intangible cultural heritage registered in the World Heritage List which unifying ethnic groups, Talebian noted.
Nowruz had no political boundaries and includes cultural elements and will make countries achieving cultural convergence, the deputy minister stated.
The Director-General of Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Alireza Delkhosh, was the other speaker, noting: "Finding common grounds and understanding diplomacy are among the important messages of Nowruz."
He said that all UN members called Nowruz a well-known ritual.
Abed Akbari, head of the Abrar Institute, as another speaker at the ceremony, called Nowruz an important and influential element in diplomacy and said that Nowruz creates a common understanding between countries with Nowruz civilization can help the diplomatic apparatus.
Nowruz is the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by various ethnolinguistic groups usually on or around March 21 on the Gregorian calendar.
