North Korean leader Kim Jong Un restated he has no desire for diplomacy with South Korea and that the North would annihilate its rival if provoked, according to state media.

North Korean leader said his recent moves to cut ties with South Korea will allow his military to take on a more agile to respond to any threats from the southern border or elsewhere. 

According to the Korean Central News Agency, Kim Jon Un said: "If enemies try to use force against our country, we will make the bold decision to change history and not hesitate to use all our super power to wipe them out."

Kim repeated his vow to never hold dialogue or negotiations with South Korea, which he said was his country's "enemy No. 1," and said the policy of powerful military readiness was the only way to ensure peace and security for North Korea, KCNA said.

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have increased in recent months with North Korea testing its weapons and the US, South Korea and Japan strengthening their combined military exercises in response. 219
