Iran Press/ Iran news: The 12th of March in the official calendar of Iran is the day commemorating Nezami. On this occasion, the 5th to the 12th of March has been named "Nezami Week" and provincial centers of Iran host various programs.
Today and on the first day of this week, a ceremony on this occasion was held in Tehran with the presence of ambassadors of different countries, diplomats, and cultural officials of the country.
Khosro Nazeri, Secretary General of ECO Cooperation Organization, said: Honoring such personalities preserves attention and interest towards cultural treasures.
Poetry knows no boundaries and brings people closer to each other, he added.
He pointed out: "Poetry, by evoking emotions, is like a bridge that eliminates cultural and economic differences."Nazeri also pointed to the importance of cultural diplomacy and said: Cultural diplomacy plays an effective role at the regional and international level through the exchange of art and literature.
Naser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also in this ceremony stated: Honoring and protecting poets and writers is honoring human values.
He added the Persian language is the language of love, mysticism, and friendship, and Hakim Nezami has a unique position in this.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized: Nezami is a lover who has patriotism, and in this sense, he is rare, and he has expressed his love for Iran in Haft Peykar's book with his poems.
In the end, referring to the military fame in other countries, he clarified: this Iranian poet has many fans in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.
