Iran Press/ Asia: Of the new community infections, 2,446 were detected in the largest city of Auckland. In addition, 74 new cases of COVID-19 were detected at the New Zealand border, said the ministry.
Currently, 480 patients are being treated in New Zealand hospitals, including 15 in intensive care units. The ministry also reported 14 more deaths from COVID-19.
New Zealand has reported 920,728 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.

Malaysia reported 2,935 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 4,443,318, according to the health ministry.
There are nine new imported cases and 2,926 local transmissions, data released on the ministry's website showed.
A further 10 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 35,536.
According to Xinhua, the ministry reported 7,585 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,354,006.
There are 53,776 active cases, 84 are being held in intensive care and 56 of those are in need of assisted breathing.
The country reported 32,106 vaccine doses administered on Thursday alone and 85 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 81.7 percent are fully vaccinated and 49.1 percent have received boosters.
