Tehran (IP) - On the occasion of Iran National Navy Day, the Navy commanders and personnel renewed allegiance with the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution.

Iran PressIran News: The Commander of the Navy Rear Admiral Shahram Irani along with a group of cadre commanders, officials, and staff of the regional bases visited the shrine of Imam Khomeini in Tehran. 

The participants in the ceremony, while renewing allegiance with the lofty ideals of the late Imam Khomeini, the martyrs, and the wise leader of the revolution, paid their respects to the great architect of the Islamic Revolution by laying a wreath

The participants also renewed their allegiance with the lofty ideals of the martyrs of the Navy.

Iran celebrates Navy Day on November 28, commemorating the anniversary of a successful naval operation, known as 'Operation Morvarid'.

During 'Operation Morvarid' on 28 November 1980, the biggest Iraqi oil terminal was destroyed, paralyzing more than 50 percent of the combat power of the Iraqi Navy, while the Iranian fleet suffered minor losses.
