Iran Press/ Iran News: Mahmoud Abbaszadeh-Meshkini made the remarks in Sunday's open session of Iran's parliament regarding the proposed Minister of Intelligence, saying: "The proposed Minister of Intelligence has presented his plans and priorities to the National Security Commission in 10 areas. After reviewing the proposed minister's plans, the commission has a positive opinion."
The spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament stated: "According to the law of the Ministry of Intelligence, the Minister of Intelligence must have four conditions. The ability to practice ijtihād, justice, and piety, having a clear political and managerial background, and not being a member of political parties, organizations, and groups, and Khatib has all four conditions."
Abbaszadeh-Meshkini said the proposed minister of intelligence Esmail Khatibzadeh enjoyed the prerequisites for the ministry, adding that he presented his programs to the national security commission and got its approval.
He added: "Khatib was the head of the Intelligence department of Iran's judiciary for 8 years."
