Shia Muslims in the US and New York, besides observing other mourning ceremonies in Muharram, named 'Imam Hussian Day' for the promotion of the Karbala and Imam Hussein movement.
Participants after observing noon and evening prayers, staged rallies and chanted" Ya Hussain" and other eulogies in different languages.
Organizers of Imam Hussain Day at the end of the ceremony distributed bounty foods (Nazri) and presented flowers to passersby.
