Iran Press/ Iran News: Delivering a speech in the inauguration ceremony of the permanent exhibition of Self-Sufficiency Jihad of Railway, Eslami said that constructing railways has been followed for years, but has been put into practice last year.
Economic condition and moving forward in economic war has led to domestic production vigorously, the minister noted.
The high ranking official went on to say that this exhibition makes opportunities to use the maximum resources of domestic production for those who seek Iran’s improvement.
Five provinces joined the railway system and the rail capacity increased by 40% and it is predicted to reach 60% by the end of the current government in 2021, Eslami added.
Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Ardebil, Kurdestan, and part of Northern Khorasan will enjoy railways and north to the south corridor which is the biggest project at the moment aiming at increasing the share of the railway in transferring cargo and passengers, he noted.
Minister retreated that although coronavirus has caused problems, loading volume in Shahid Rajaee and Imam Khomeini ports has been doubled compared to last year, expressing hoping to increase the rate until the next Iranian year (starting on March 21).
Regarding international railways, Eslami also said that Iran’s railway to Herat (Afghanistan) will be inaugurated which is a new opportunity for Iran’s railway.
