Iran Press/Iran news: In response to a question about reports of an attack on the Iranian embassy building in Damascus, Iran's Freign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei while condemning the aggression against Tehran's embassy emphasized that guaranteeing the security and safety of diplomatic and consular premises and missions is a fundamental principle of international law, and its observance is mandatory in any situation.
He added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has shared its concerns about this issue in with other parties influential in the developments in Syria and has called for preventing the repetition of such attacks."
In a significant development on Sunday the Syrian opposition group, identified as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, broadcasted their first official statement on Syrian state television from Damascus, announcing the end of Bashar al-Asad's government.
