Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking in a meeting with a group of Qom city people on the anniversary of 1978 Qom protests against the Pahlavi dynasty, the Leader said Soleimani was both brave and prudent, not just in military affairs but also in political issues.
"Enemies were humbled by the magnificence of the Iranian nation’s turnout for the funeral of Martyr Soleimani. They may not admit it, but they have no other option but to accept it," he added.
"The lying, rambling US govt – whose words are worthless – tried to introduce this great Mujahid & Commander in the fight against terrorism as a terrorist. The Iranian nation slapped them in the face with their turn out in the millions for the funeral of General Soleimani," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei noted.
The leader on the 1978 Qom protests against the Pahlavi dynasty stressed that one must learn from the Day 19, 1978 incident and the past must be the light of the future.
"On Day 19, 1978, the people of Qom stood up and resisted against the ruthless forces of the Pahlavi regime in order to defend Imam Khomeini who was not in Iran at the time," the Leader of the Islamic Revolution added.
Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated, "Neither people nor the Pahlavi regime ever thought that this move would be the source of a huge change in the country and in the world."
"The movement was for the sake of religious faith and zeal continued with the help of God and the people under the leadership of Imam Khomeini managed to revolt and the Islamic Revolution took place in February 1979,", the leader went on to say.
"The same move originated a great revolution. A move made for religious zeal and God blessed it and continued, and afterward, the Arbaeens led the people to react and the noble Imam led the people, leading to a massive uprising namely February 1979," Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed. 101/205
