Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry called for the occupying forces to leave the Palestinian territories and said a long occupation does not create any rights for the occupying.

Iran PressIran news: Nasser Kanaani writes on Platform X: Those who should leave Palestine and go out are usurping and occupying Zionists."The Palestinian people are the real and permanent owners of the land, and as they patiently, resisted and sacrificed for the freedom of their land for decades, they will continue to stay and clean their land from the presence of the occupation criminals."

"No matter how long the occupation lasts, it does not create a right for the occupier," the spokesman noted.

The Israel-Palestine conflict began when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against Israel, a multi-pronged surprise attack including a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel via land, sea, and air, which Hamas said was in retaliation for the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Al-Quds and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians.

In response, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Israel's response has extended to cutting water and electricity supplies to Gaza, further worsening the living conditions in an area that has reeled under a crippling siege since 2007.

More than 2,400 Palestinians have been killed in the current bout of violence, including at least 1,100 Palestinians and 1,300 Israelis.
