Lebanon (IP) - People from different walks of life have come to Beirut's streets one day after Ashura to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husain (AS) and the tragedy that begins for his household.

Iran PressMiddle East: Holding a rally, the Lebanese people, Muslims and Christians, expressed their determination to follow Imam Hussian's (AS) path by chanting Labbayk Ya Hussain, Labbayk Ya Mahdi, Labbayk Ya Quran, Labbayk Ya Nasrallah.

They encourage the resistance against the US and Israeli regimes, with the Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivering a speech on the occasion.  

Ashura is the 10th day of Muharram. In 61 AH (October 10, 680 CE), Imam Hussein (AS) and his true companions were martyred in the battle against the army of then-time tyrant Yazid I, led by 'Umar b. Sa'd.

A day after Asura, on such a day, the Yazid I's troops take Imam Hussain's (AS) family captive, including his sister Lady Zaynab (SA) and his son Sajjad (AS), the fourth Imam of the Shia.
