Iran press/ Iran news: Addressing a huge crowd of Eid al-Fitr worshippers at the Imam Khomeini Mossalla in Tehran, the Leader congratulated the Islamic Ummah and the Iranian nation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and saluted the pure spirits of the martyrs of the 5 June 1963 uprising, beseeching God to make the Iranian nation steadfast as it treads the path of martyrs.
The Leader also thanked the Iranian nation for its massive and enthusiastic presence in the International Quds Day demonstrations and rallies and said: "The massive, firm and resolute presence of the Iranian people in the Quds Day rallies is bound to scupper the calculations of Iran's enemies, and will surely affect global political equations and policies," Iran press reported.
Turning to the blessed month of Ramadhan, the Leader said Ramadhan is the month of God's mercy and blessings, month of cleaning and purifying one's heart, and referred to young people who despite school examinations fasted from dawn to dusk in the blessed month of Ramadhan. He pointedly added: "This shows that faith and spirituality of youngsters and the younger generation is growing and becoming stronger."
Commenting on flood victims in Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged the people and government officials not to forget the flood victims, and to do everything possible to solve the problems that they face, particularly in places like Khouzestan, where the very hot climate makes it doubly urgent to help and assist flood victims.
Turning to Palestine, Ayatollah Khamenei said the issue of occupied Palestine is the number one issue of the Islamic world, pointedly adding: "Palestine's betrayal by some Islamic countries, such as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, has paved the way for the shameful American-Zionist scheme, the so-called 'Deal of the Century' to be put forward at this time."
Commenting of Bahrain's hosting of an economic summit linked with the 'Deal of the Century' in just a few weeks from now, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "Bahrain's unpopular, anti-Islamic and pro-American leaders have decided to host this shameful summit, thus displaying their ineptitude, incompetence, subservience to America, and betrayal of the Palestinian struggle. But the rulers of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia should be warned that they have set foot in a very dangerous quicksand."
Elaborating further the Leader predicted: "The Deal of the Century will never see the light of day, it will never come to fruition, and I want to thank Islamic countries and Palestinian resistance groups who have already declared their absolute opposition to this American-Zionist scheme." 101/211
