Iran Press/ Iran news: The commander, crews, and families of the Iranian Navy's 86th flotilla met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday.
The Navy's 86th flotilla of the Iran Army recently completed its historic mission around the globe by covering more than 65,000 kilometers of sea route after 8 months of sailing.
An excerpt of the Leader of the Revolution's remarks in this meeting is as follows:
- It was a great honor that your flotilla achieved; A group of 350 people with an experienced commander traveled 65,000 kilometers; navigated around the world via high seas; and stood on the water for almost 8 months, exactly 232 days; These are great achievements. The famous naval forces of the world are few who do this and can do it; you did. You crossed three oceans and returned home gloriously.
- Right here, I feel it necessary to remember and admire the families of the dear martyrs; the families of the flotilla. Your loved ones came back, and you saw them and hugged them; The families of the martyrs missed their loved ones; Whatever we have, is due to this great magnificence; We are all in debt.
- The great mission of the 86th flotilla in circumnavigating the globe had not happened in the history of our country's seafaring.
- The purpose of this meeting is to thank and appreciate the 86th flotilla that completed a great mission and successfully circumnavigated the globe, something that had not happened in the history of our country's navigation. I sincerely thank each of you. I also thank your families. my dears! The actions of the crews of the navy during the important events of the revolution until today, are the basis of your success today. We should be grateful to them. In the sea, the army and the IRGC made a lot of sacrifices. These sacrifices paid off.
- This year, thanks to the blessing of Imam Mahdi(as), the Muharram rituals were enthusiastic. The enemies tried to make Muharram stagnant; The exact opposite of what they wanted happened. This year's Ashura was more passionate, dynamic, and beneficial than the previous years. The work that is done for God and is in line with divine goals, God Almighty will help it.
- You showed that the high seas belong to everyone and that they say that they do not allow certain ships to pass through certain straits going nowhere.
- This move of yours was making safety. Your presence in remote areas, in the farthest parts of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, etc., was a contribution to the country's security. You have shown that the sea belongs to everyone. The high seas are not for anyone. If they can, these superpowers will deed the oceans in their own name so that the hands of others will be cut off. It is one of the characteristics of superpowers, it is one of the characteristics of America. You have violated this. This is one of the clear results of your work.
- The sea and space must be free for all nations, and the security of shipping and maritime transport must be provided for all countries, today the Americans attack oil tankers, and they help the maritime smuggling gangs, this is their big offense in our region. What they are doing is a violation of an undeniable international humanitarian law. You practically implemented this law of public safety of the sea for everyone.
