Iran Press/ Europe: Russia on Wednesday sharply criticized a U.S. decision to supply advanced rocket systems and munitions to Ukraine, warning it could widen the conflict and increase the risk of direct confrontation with Washington.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says the supply of U.S. advanced rocket launchers to Ukraine raises the risks of a "third country" being dragged into the conflict. Lavrov responded to a reporter's question in Saudi Arabia about American plans to provide Ukraine with advanced rocket systems that can strike with precision at long-range Russian targets.
In response, Russia's ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, warned against sending US missile systems to Ukraine, saying that sending such systems to Ukraine by the United States would significantly increase the risk of escalating the conflict in Ukraine.
After a sharp warning from the Russian diplomat, US President Joe Biden said on Monday that Washington would not provide Ukraine with missile systems that could reach Russian territory. 219
