Moscow (IP): In a report on the phone call between the foreign ministers of Russia and Iran on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia wrote that the mutual commitment of the parties to the basic principles of relations between the two countries, including unconditional respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and other principles of the United Nations Charter in the comprehensive agreement between the two countries is stipulated.

Iran PressEurope: According to Iran press, this ministry reported: Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sergey Lavrov, and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone conversation with each other on Monday, January 15 2023.

The report states: "The foreign ministers of Russia and Iran discussed the progress of the preparation of the new intergovernmental agreement and a number of operational issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, transportation, logistics and other fields."

According to this report, in this phone call, special attention was paid to the intensification of tensions in the Middle East.

Based on this, Lavrov and Amir- Abdollahian strongly condemned the large-scale attacks by a group of countries led by the United States and Britain on the territory of Yemen.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Russia also called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as well as guaranteeing unhindered humanitarian access to the area to provide immediate aid to the affected civilians.

In the continuation of this report, it is stated: "The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Iran regarding the further development of contacts and coordination at all levels, emphasizing the continuous mutual commitment to the basic principles of relations between Russia and Iran, including unconditional respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and other principles.

They emphasized the UN Charter in the "big" intergovernmental agreement that is being prepared for signing between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran." 204
