Moscow (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Moscow, met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday afternoon and discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments, including the situation in Gaza.

Iran PressEurope: According to Iran Press, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is at the head of a delegation to participate in the annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the five Caspian littoral states in Moscow, this afternoon (Tuesday, December 5) with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov visited and had a conversation.

Bilateral issues and regional developments, including the Gaza and international situation, have been discussed by the two foreign ministers.

President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Moscow on Thursday is also one of the other topics on the agenda of this meeting. Raisi is going to go to Moscow for the second time after becoming president and in response to Vladimir Putin's invitation on Thursday, December 7th.

Amir-Abdollahian told reporters this morning that the issue of Palestine and the crimes of the Israeli regime against Gaza is another fundamental issue that the participants and especially the main host, Russia will discuss and they will discuss the ways to immediately stop the genocide and war crimes against the people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the opening of the humanitarian corridor to send continuous humanitarian aid and prevent the forced migration of the people of Gaza.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Caspian Sea Affairs, Alireza Jahangiri, and Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, are among Amir-Abdollahian's companions on this trip.

Before this meeting, the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation signed a joint statement of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation in order to cooperate on ways and means of countering, reducing and compensating the negative effects and consequences of unilateral coercive measures.

Before that, Amir Abdollahian met with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Muradov and discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also participated in the annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the five littoral states of the Caspian Sea (Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan) and delivered a speech. He said in this meeting that all decisions about the issues of this sea should be made by consensus and agreement of the five littoral states and emphasized the necessity of drawing the baseline in the Caspian Sea.
