Moscow (IP) - Iran and Russia have signed an agreement on countermeasures against unilateral coercive measures (UCMs).

Iran PressEurope: Iranian top diplomat Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov signed the agreement on the sidelines of a meeting of the foreign ministers of the five Caspian countries in Moscow on Tuesday.

The two diplomats also discussed Iran-Russia relations and regional developments.

Lavrov criticized the US and its allies for replacing diplomacy with UCMs and praised Iran's membership in BRICS, expressing Russia's support for cooperation within the economic grouping.

He also emphasized the need for increased activities of the North-South Corridor.

Amir-Abdollahian highlighted the opportunity to review past agreements signed by the presidents of both countries and praised the fruitful results of diplomatic interaction between Iran and Russia.
