Tehran (IP) - The president of Kazakhstan, Esm Jomart Tokayev, in a phone call, once again congratulated Iran's president-elect on his election and wished him success. Kazakhstan's President stated that the relations between the two countries during the time of the late Iranian president, based on mutual trust, have progressed significantly, and we hope for further progress in the future.

Iran Press/Iran news: In this phone conversation, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized his country's interest in bilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of transit, energy, technical-engineering services, financial, economic and commercial exchanges, regional cooperation, as well as interaction in the form of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union.

While appreciating the President of Kazakhstan for his congratulatory message and phone call, Masoud Pezeshkian considered the development of relations with this country as one of the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy priorities via the approach of strengthening neighborly relations.

Pezeshkian added: "The two countries have diverse and large capacities in the fields of transit, energy and technical-engineering cooperation to expand relations with each other."

Pointing out that Iran's transit route is the most reliable and cost-effective way to connect Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries to open global markets, the president-elect said: "Iran and Kazakhstan are equipped with good capacities for regional and international cooperation, as well as cooperation through organizations such as Shanghai and the Eurasian Economic Union."

Emphasizing the necessity of using all capacities to stop the war and reduce the sufferings of the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza, Pezeshkian appreciated Kazakhstan's positive vote for the United Nations General Assembly resolution regarding Palestine's status in the United Nations.
