Iran Press/Iran news: Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, and Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker of the Senate of Pakistan, exchanged views in a telephone conversation on Saturday.
Addressing the nation and government of Pakistan, Qalibaf said: "Strengthening and consolidation of the friendly relations between the two neighboring and Muslim countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan, which is also stressed by the Leader, is of great importance."
He added: "The Islamic Consultative Assembly welcomes the continuation of friendly and expanding relations with the Senate and the representatives of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan."
The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said: "Assemblies have a high position in the political system of the two countries and I hope that the representatives of Iran and Pakistan will be able to use their parliamentary capacities to strengthen political, economic and security cooperation, especially in border security."
Qalibaf offered his condolences to the Pakistani parliament, government, and people over the recent airstrikes that killed dozens of people.

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly welcomed the implementation of all agreements between the two countries and expedited the holding of a joint commission on economic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
