Iran Press/Iran News: Referring to the new US administration, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during the cabinet session said: "The tone of the new US administration has changed a bit and it has confessed that the acts of the previous administration were wrong. But regarding lifting sanctions and recognizing the rights of the Iranian people, we have not yet seen a serious step taken by the US administration."
Regarding JCPOA, President Rouhani stated: "If the United States and Iran decide to fulfill all obligations, it is very easy and can be done in a day or two. Only if there is a serious will, the United States will lift all sanctions and Iran will immediately fulfill all its obligations."
The president added: "The Zionists trapped Trump; he always chanted slogans saying “America first”, but in practice, Zionism was first, extremism was second, racism was third, and America was fourth. The Zionists deceived Trump and led him in the wrong direction."
If the current US administration admits that it has made a mistake, it should say it more clearly and act faster, according to the Iranian President.
Rouhani added: "JCPOA is one of the most important political agreements in the history of Iran. I emphasize again that we did a great job in JCPOA. Today we produce nuclear energy and no one can say it is against the law."
Rouhani emphasized that if it were not for the economic war, they would have seen what our country would be like.
He also went on to say that the most important task in terms of public rights was to lift the burden of sanctions on them.
Referring to Islamic Republic Leader's emphasis on the resistance economy, Rouhani said: "One of the foundations of the resistance economy, which is the order of the Leader, is extraversion. Products must be exported. If bullying prohibits the export of goods and products or does not allow its payback and money, it means isolation and loss of people's rights. That is why the government took action to create and maintain the Joint Comprehension Plan of Action (JCPOA)."
Stressing that the most important public right is for the sanctions to be lifted and released, Rouhani said: "The pressure must be lifted from the public. Of course, this is the duty of the government. The constitution explicitly states that, except in cases where the execution is entrusted to the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, all matters are the responsibility of the government and no one has the right to interfere in the execution of the law."
