Rome (IP) - Italian Foreign Minister welcomed the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Iran PressEurope: In a press conference in Rome on Tuesday evening, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, the resumption of relations between Tehran and Riyadh is a matter of international politics and concerns these two countries.

The Italian foreign minister emphasized that what is important for Italy is that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia contributes to peace.

During the negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Beijing, the two countries agreed on Friday, March 10, to resume diplomatic relations after 7 years.

According to the agreement between the two countries, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia will meet each other for a maximum of two months to pave the way for the exchange of ambassadors and the reopening of embassies, as well as other requirements for the resumption of relations.

Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper of Saudi Arabia, which is published in London, quoted informed sources and announced that the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran, will meet in Beijing next Thursday.

Also, Saudi Arabia's King Salman has invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi for an official visit - just over a week since the countries agreed to restore diplomatic relations.
