Amir Saeed Irwani also pointed to the illegal presence of foreign forces in Syria and stated that the illegal presence of foreign forces in parts of Syria had created ideal conditions for terrorist activities, which endangers international peace and security.

Irwani condemned the theft of the natural resources of the Syrian people, which is important to help the economy of this country, especially oil products in the areas occupied by foreign forces, and supported the positions of Syria in the region and the improvement of the bilateral relations of this country in the region.

The US military and their affiliated terrorist elements have been illegally present in the north and east of Syria for a long time, and in addition to looting the country's oil and wheat resources, they are carrying out actions against the Syrian people and forces.

In this meeting, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations also pointed to the unilateral sanctions of the West against Syria and said: "The continuance of unilateral sanctions against the Syrian people has left disastrous results in all aspects of their lives."

Irwani drew the attention of the international community to the dire humanitarian conditions in Syria and added that considering these conditions, it is necessary to give priority to humanitarian aid, and political conditions should not be an obstacle to humanitarian aid reaching the people in need.

Since 2011, the European Union and the United States have targeted Syria with various sanctions in order to support terrorists.

The crisis in Syria started in 2011 with the massive invasion of terrorist groups supported by Saudi Arabia, America, and their allies to change the equation of the region in favor of the Israeli regime.
