Tehran(IP)- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding media collaboration between the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and Russia’s "BRICS TV" network has been signed.

Iran Press/Iran news:   According to the Public Relations Department of IRIB's World Service, the agreement was signed by Dr. Abbas Mohammadnejad, Director General of International Affairs at IRIB, and Janna Tolstikova, CEO of BRICS TV.

The MoU sets the stage for cooperation between the two parties in exchanging television programs, news packages, and joint productions across various fields. It also outlines plans for collaboration in educational segments.

BRICS TV broadcasts in 30 languages and operates correspondents in many countries worldwide. The network was established to promote convergence and closer relations among BRICS member states, with its headquarters located in Moscow, Russia.

Dr. Mohammadnejad expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the agreement, emphasizing the importance of expanding media cooperation between Iran, Russia, and other BRICS countries.

He noted that this agreement marks the beginning of increased collaboration and stressed the need to form an independent media bloc to counter Western media monopolies.

Janna Tolstikova, CEO of BRICS TV, highlighted the significance of IRIB, underscoring the potential of utilizing the capabilities of Iran’s national broadcaster to foster stronger media ties.
