Tehran (IP) – Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a subterranean naval facility, showcasing its advanced strategic capabilities. Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, visited the base, which is described as a small part of the IRGC Navy’s broader operational power.

The visit, accompanied by Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, head of the IRGC Navy, showcased a city of missile-equipped vessels stored securely underground. General Salami emphasized the base’s significance as a critical element in Iran’s maritime defense infrastructure, though further details remain classified.

The underground base, housing a substantial fleet of missile-launching naval vessels, reflects the IRGC's ongoing efforts to fortify strategic assets amid rising regional tensions. Officials promised additional disclosures in the near future.

“This site, while impressive, represents just a fraction of the Navy’s overall defensive capabilities,” Salami said, emphasizing the scale and complexity of the IRGC's naval assets.

The IRGC commander highlighted the growing readiness of these vessels and their missile systems, noting their role in patrolling the Persian Gulf and defending Iran’s maritime borders. He also pointed to the technological advancements achieved by the IRGC Navy in both quantity and quality of offensive systems over recent years.
