Iran Press/Middle East: An Iraqi member of the Commission on security and defense, Karim al-Muhammadawi believes that US bases in the country have played an important role in the recent Zionist drone strikes on Al-Hashd al-Shaabi's (the Popular Mobilization Forces) bases, and that is why Iraq can attack the US troops and its bases in Iraq.
The Parliament member added that a commission in the cabinet would "investigate the military response to the Zionist regime and anyone who helped it attack al-Hashed al-Shaabi's positions," Iran Press reported.
Iraqi news websites quoted al-Muhammadawi that the commission will submit its report to the Iraqi parliament in the coming days.
He also stated that the results of investigations into the attack give the Iraqi government the right to respond to any attacks without any international protest.
Al-Muhammadawi also explained that the Iraqi government has the right to launch a military strike on US positions on Iraqi soil because it has helped the Israeli drones violate Iraqi airspace.
He pointed out that the Americans had spotted Al-Hashd al-Shaabi's facilities to Israeli drones, noting that next week the government will say that how it will respond to the Zionist regime and its allies.
In this regard, another member of the commission, Mehdi Taghi, said the Iraqi government plans to raise the Zionist regime's aggression in the Security Council and the UN.
Taghi insisted that Israel's involvement in the attacks was obvious and the Iraqi government should respond in various ways, blaming the US government and its anti-ISIS-led coalition responsible for repeated attacks on Iraqi soil, because the US and the coalition are obliged to support Iraqi airspace.
