TEHRAN (IP) — Iranian women have set a new record for their participation in the Olympics, with 11 athletes representing the country in various sports.

At the opening ceremony of the women's training hall, Mehin Farhadizad, vice president of the National Olympic Committee, emphasized the importance of providing necessary facilities for Iranian athletes, both men and women. He noted that being an athlete is a challenging task, but Iranian women are capable of handling it alongside their other responsibilities as mothers and wives.

Manaf Hashemi, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee, also spoke at the ceremony, highlighting the significance of respecting women and creating justice. He expressed hope that future conditions will improve, allowing Iranian women to continue their upward trajectory in the world of sports.
