New York (IP) - Ensiyeh Khazali, Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, met with Turkey's Minister of Family and Social Services Mrs. Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş on the sidelines of the 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) at the UN headquarters.

Iran Press/America: Referring to Israel's recent crimes and the genocide against the innocent people of Gaza, Khazali said: "We must take serious action regarding the women of Gaza. I hope that the countries, especially the Islamic countries, will put an end to the difficult conditions of the people of Gaza".

Ms. Göktaş, while confirming the position of the Vice President of the Republic of Iran, considered the two neighboring countries to have deep historical and cultural ties and thanked Iran for its unwavering support during the earthquake in Turkey.

This senior Turkish official stated: "Considering the threats and challenges in the region, it is very important to strengthen the relations between the countries. Last month we hosted the president of Iran and we want such high-level meetings to strengthen future relations."

Regarding the family issue, the Turkish minister said: "The issue of the family is very important and the existence of the traditional family is in danger. Therefore, Mr. Erdogan, the President of Turkey, in September of last year, in the United Nations Assembly, spoke about the need to support the family".

While supporting the people of Gaza, she stated: "Gaza and Palestine are sacred to us. We stood by them years ago and we are still standing by them and with this approach, we sent humanitarian aid to them through Egypt".
