Iran Press/ Iran news: Meeting each other at Iran's Presidential swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told his South African counterpart Tandi Modise that Iran would welcome shore-up of parliamentary ties with South Africa in different areas.
Ghalibaf said: "We hope that holding of the 15th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission between the two countries will become a priority so that we can raise cooperation to a higher level."
The speaker of the Iranian Parliament also referred to the US sanctions against Iran and noted that imposing sanctions on the independent countries was a failed policy.
Tandi Modise, for her part, said the South African Parliament would welcome the elevation of the cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly in parliamentary ties.
She pointed to Iran's advancements in science and technology and expressed hope that her country could use the Iranian experts' experiences that would lead to more expansion of the two countries' ties.
